The Ellis County Health Department announced early Wednesday morning that they will not enforce any resident or business restrictions regarding COVID-19. This is in wake of Gov. Kelly returning restriction control to Kansas counties earlier last week. According to the governor’s executive order, this decision was made as a result of statewide unemployment and the current economy in Kansas.
ECHD encourages residents to still practice good hygiene and take necessary precautions, according to a press release issued Wednesday morning. Also according to the release, Ellis County has had zero cases of COVID-19 in the past two weeks and no cases for over five weeks.
The County Commission will have its almost-weekly meeting tonight. Among other speakers, High Plains Mental Health is scheduled to give their annual report and county administrator Darin Myers is listed to give a 2021 county budget review.
