As a finalist for the Fort Hays State Homecoming, Derek Dreher is excited to be representing a newer organization — the Cybersecurity Club — and Informatics. This organization brings awareness in advancing Cybersecurity and opens up a set of skills for students to learn about network security, digital forensics, secure coding, reverse engineering, and cryptography.
It was founded last December in 2018. Derek is the founding President and feels very lucky to experience all the first-time moments with this organization on campus. He is excited to see how far this organization will grow throughout the year on campus.
Starting off Homecoming week Derek is looking forward to seeing everybody such as the alumni, students, and the community all coming together to share their love and excitement toward Fort Hays. He is glad he chose to continue his education at Fort Hays, following in his parent’s footsteps, who both attended and graduated from Fort Hays.
Wishing the best of luck to Derek as the week progresses in the homecoming candidacy. Voting for the title of King and Queen will take place from 9:00 am October 9th to noon October 11th on TigerLink or in Memorial Union from 11 am to 1 pm on October 9th and 10th.
