Women’s tennis earns ITA All-Academic Team award

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Fort Hays State women’s tennis squad has been named an ITA All-Academic Team for the third year in a row, announced Thursday (7/18) by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Additionally, five Tigers were named All-Academic Scholar Athletes, the most honorees for the program since 2015.

Ellea Ediger, Lauren Lindell, Macy Moyers, Kimberly Stone and Haley Weidemann all received Scholar Athlete status after earning a varsity letter, compiling a GPA of 3.50 or higher over the 2018-19 academic year and finishing at least two semesters at FHSU. Lindell and Moyers both earned the award for the third time while Ediger was named a Scholar Athlete for the second year in a row. It was the first such honor for Stone and Weidemann.

The Tigers earned the team award after compiling a team GPA of 3.519 during the 2018-19 season. The All-Academic Team award is bestowed programs recording a team GPA of 3.20 or better throughout the current academic year. Fort Hays State was one of four MIAA programs to receive the honor.
