The Fort Hays State University Volleyball team put up a tough fight against the University of Nebraska Lopers on Tuesday evening. UNK took the first set by 6 points, 25-19, but FHSU came back fighting and took the next set, beating the Lopers, 25-23. Kylie Rollman blocked a hit from UNK to seal the set win. However, UNK eventually won the match, 3-1.

In the third set, FHSU fell behind, with UNK scoring 6 straight points to start the set. At the end of the match, Fort Hays had 49 kills, 11 by freshman Logan Wallick, and 10 by senior Kylie Rollman.

The Tigers had an impressive back row, with 79 digs throughout the match. Not only did the Tigers put up a fight by digging UNK’s attacks, but they also kept the ball from coming over the net in the first place. By the end of the match, the FHSU volleyball team had an impressive 10 blocks.

FHSU proved tonight to themselves and the crowd that they are a force to be reckoned with, and they will not go down without a fight, as they showed tonight by going four sets with the fifth-ranked team in NCAA Division II.

Fort Hays State will have their next home game on October 6th at 6 pm where they will go head to head with Missouri Western State University.
