Earlier this week, the Hays Public Library hosted a virtual exploration night about London’s most famous serial killer, Jack the Ripper.

The library laid out a table full of snacks for the attendees, appropriately named to fit the event.  The drinks included London Fog, Rippers (Cranberry) Punch, and the River Thames.  Snacks included cinnamon and cheddar and bacon scones, as well as Bloody Intestines (orange and cherry cinnamon rolls), a Butcher Board (charcuterie board), and Innards (cranberry meatballs and BBQ little smokies).

After the attendees acquired their snacks,  Hays Public Library Adult Services Manager Samantha Gill played a video made by Tours By Foot-London. The video walked around London while explaining each place where a murder took place, as well as other places where his victims would have been around during their last night.

Other events the Library is hosting include Soup Around the World and Baking Demo with Cathy Drabkin.

The Soup Around the World event is at 6 p.m. tonight in the Schmidt Gallery.  Attendees can try some different kinds of soup from different parts of the world and find a new favorite.

The baking demo with Cathy Drabkin will take place at 6 p.m. on November 3rd in the Schmidt Gallery.  Drabkin is the owner of Cathy’s Bread, a bread shop that is open Fridays from 3-5:30 p.m.

Hays Public Library also hosts book clubs every month, including a true crime book club.  The next meeting is on November 10th. Contact the library for the book of the month.
