Brasser named to all-MIAA golf team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sophomore Morgan Brasser of Fort Hays State was named All-MIAA Honorable Mention for Women’s Golf, announced on Wednesday (Apr. 20). Only 16 women’s golfers in the MIAA received all-conference honors, which included five first team, five second team, and six honorable mention picks.

Brasser is an All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection for the second straight season. She has a season scoring average of 77.2. Brasser has four top 10 finishes this season, which includes three in the top five. She claimed her first collegiate individual title by winning the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, Mo. on March 29, and three of her four top-10 finishes have occurred during the spring portion of the 2021-22 season.

Brasser shot in the 70s in 14 of her 19 rounds so far this season with a season-best 71 (even par) at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational in Oklahoma City. She also shot a final-round even par 72 to run away with the win at the Holiday Inn Express Classic in March.

Brasser and the FHSU Women’s Golf team will be in action at the MIAA Championships Thursday-Saturday (Apr. 21-23) in Newton, Kan. at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
