Thea White, the voice of Muriel from Courage the Cowardly Dog passed away Friday at the age of 81. Her death was announced by her brother John Zitner in a Facebook post.

In response to this news former Courage the Cowardly Dog team members and fans alike posted their thoughts.

Marty Grabstein, the voice of Courage gave his thoughts in an Instagram post saying “She was a warm, loving, kind..extremely funny woman” going on to say “She was just this Angel, an angel in our lives that existed amongst us.”

He wasn’t alone in his sentiments, on August 2nd John Dilworth, creator of Courage the Cowardly Dog posted a video to his YouTube channel.

“She was a fabulous soul, and it really was a joy working with her on this little dog project 20 years ago”.

He goes on to discuss the creation of the character and how Muriel (based on a real person) was brought to life through her “unique interpretation of a Scottish voice”

In a later post, White’s brother talks about her excitement for the upcoming Straight Outta Nowhere film featuring Courage the Cowardly Dog and Scooby-Doo. The film releases in September and appears to be Thea White’s last vocal performance.
