RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Fort Hays State’s Jonathan Gammelvind and Kieran Brown received Great American Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors on Thursday, March 11. Gammelvind was named the Defender of the Week, while Brown was named Goalkeeper of the Week.
Gammelvind posted his first point as a Tiger last week, assisting on one of the three goals by Fort Hays State in a 3-0 win over Ouachita Baptist. He helped the Tigers produce their second straight shutout of an opponent to open the year. The Tigers limited Ouachita Baptist to seven total shots for the match.
Brown is the Goalkeeper of the Week for the second straight week. He now has two shutout victories to open the season after FHSU’s 3-0 win over Ouachita Baptist. He saved five of the seven shots taken by OBU in the match.
Gammelvind and Brown join Ignacio Lerech, the Offensive Player of the Week from Newman, as this week’s GAC Player of the Week honorees.
