NEW ORLEANS – Fort Hays State sophomore pole vaulter Ryan Stanley earned USTFCCCA All-Central Region honors for his performance during the indoor season, announced Monday (March 2) by the coaches association. It is the second time Stanley has been named an All-Region performer after he also picked up the award during the 2019 outdoor campaign.
Stanley’s top mark of 16-10.25 came at the Wendy’s/Pittsburg State Invitational earlier this season, just one-half inch off the program record of 16-10.75. That mark places him ninth on the national performance chart.
He easily cleared the NCAA Division II provisional mark in all eight of his competitive events this season, earning two top finishes and five top-three placements.
Stanley and the rest of the Tigers will now await the official announcement of participants in the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, set to be announced Tuesday afternoon (March 3).
