On Sunday morning, Fort Hays State University junior Efe Osaghae was booked into the Ellis County Jail on allegations of aggravated sexual battery, aggravated burglary and criminal trespass, according to information provided by law enforcement.

Osaghae was arrested by a Fort Hays State University police officer.

His bond was set at $75,000. Osaghae made bail early Monday morning and was released.

Osaghae is a member of the FHSU wrestling team. He competed in the Bob Smith Open at Gross Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, finishing 2-2 at 174 pounds.

He was an All-American wrestler as a freshman, finishing eighth at the NCAA Division II national tourney. He didn’t qualify for nationals a year ago as a sophomore.

As of publication of this article, he is listed as active on the FHSU wrestling roster.

FHSU head wrestling coach Chas Thompson did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Formal charges were pending with the Ellis County Attorney’s Office. Osaghae could face additional charges.

Osaghae is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
