Fort Hays State University’s wrestler, Jon Inman was named MIAA Wrestler of the Week, as announced by the conference office this past Tuesday. Inman finished the week undefeated. His 5-0 record as an individual led the Tigers to two wins at the Midwest Duals last week.
Inman, a redshirt freshman from Branson, Mo., increased his record to 15-3 on the season. He scored a total of 22 team points for the Tigers in the past five duals. Inman’s record included two first period falls, a major decision and two decisions.
In his first match, Inman escaped with 6-4 decision win against No. 5 Central Oklahoma’s Znick Ferrell. The success continued as Inman beat Northern State’s Anthony Navarro in the first period of the match. On January 18, Inman dominated his match against Minot State’s Justin Berg. His success continued as Inman defeated Southwest Minnesota State’s Andrew Rodas in a major decision of 16-8. He finished the week with a tough win versus California Baptist’s Caleb Gerl in a 5-3 decision.
