Fort Hays State baseball travels over to Warrensburg, Mo. to take on Central Missouri this weekend for a three-game road swing (April 26-28). FHSU enters at 3-34 overall and 2-25 in the MIAA, while the Mules are 29-12 on the season and 19-8 in conference action. First pitch from Crane Stadium is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. in the series finale on Sunday.
The Tigers and Mules will meet for the 52nd time in series history on Friday. UCM leads the all-time series with a 38-13 record against FHSU, including a 15-6 clip in Warrensburg.
Landon Erway leads the way on offense in batting average (.341), runs (22), hits (42) and triples (two). Taylan Mullins-Ohm is the only other Tigers north of the .300 plateau with a .316 average. Tyler Olson paces the team with nine doubles and Ryan Grasser has a team-best 22 RBI. Ethan Booe leads the pitching staff in ERA (4.56), innings pitched (53.1) and strikeouts (32), while holding opponents to a .249 clip in the batter’s box.
On the flip side, the Mules lead the MIAA in batting average (.326), on-base percentage (.406) and slugging percentage (.507). Erik Webb paces the conference in average (.422), while Mason Janvrin ranks first in runs scored (54), stolen bases (29) and hits (73).
