The men’s basketball team got back on track Saturday afternoon with a 95-50 victory over the Tigers of Central Christian College. The win comes after the Tigers opened up MIAA play with two straight losses to Central Missouri and Missouri Western. Their largest lead of the afternoon came at the 5:13 mark of the second half when FHSU held a 50 point lead by a score of 88-36. FHSU hit 59.7 percent of their shots throughout the afternoon.
Along with the spectacular offensive performance, FHSU had a great afternoon defensively, holding CCC to a mere 26 percent from the field.
Carson Konrade led FHSU with 19 points in the game, including a 5-7 effort from beyond the arc. Konrade is currently ranked first in the conference in the three point field goal percentage category. as he is currently hitting 55.2 percent of his shots from three point land. The mark also ranks 12th nationally in Division Two. Dwayne Brunson also contributed eight points and eight rebounds throughout the afternoon while James Fleming finished with 12 points in the contest. Marty Wendel also contributed 12 points for FHSU, a career high for the senior.
The Tigers will jump back into conference play with their first home conference match of the season next Saturday against Northwest Missouri State. Tip is set for 4pm.
