Students and faculty from the Fort Hays State University Department of Music and Theatre is now offering “Once in a Hundred Years,” a cookbook compiled for fundraising purposes, containing recipes from former and current students and faculty commemorating the department’s 100th year.
Pam McGowne, the department of music and theatre staff accompanist who had experience in selling cookbooks for fundraisers in the past originated the idea.
“We just thought it would be fun to honor the 100th year of the Music and Theatre Department,” McGowne said. “It is something people can use, enjoy and not let sit around.”
The book contains recipes from western Kansas as well as the world. Dr. Irena Ravitskaya, assistant professor of music and theatre, supplied recipes from her native Russia.
Sales of the book will continue throughout the academic year. The price of one book is $15 or two for $25. To purchase a cookbook, contact McGowne at 785-635-2191 or Dr. Terry Crull at 785-639-3200 or 785-628-4258.
