Wednesday proved to be an exciting night for the Fort Hays State wrestling team after their win over the Central Missouri Mules.

After taking two losses at first, the Tigers began a steady comeback with undefeated junior Brandon Ball (18-0), who is nationally-ranked #2, winning in the third period with technical fall.

After an automatic win for the Tigers due to a gap in the Central Missouri roster, sophomore Efe Osaghae (21-3), nationally-ranked #4, won in the second period, also by technical fall. Redshirt freshman Conrad Vajnar (8-9) also came out with a win, pinning his opponent in the first period.

Followed by Vajnar were wins from nationally-ranked #9 sophomore Marty Verhaeghe (18-9), senior Micquille Robinson, redshirt freshman Ryan Tiers, and sophomore A.J. Cooper.

A great night for a victory, Wednesday was also Senior Night for the wrestlers. The ceremony honored the family and commitment of four Fort Hays seniors; 133-pounder Dy’Juan Carney of Tallahassee, Flordia, 157-pounder Ryne Cokeley of Eudora, Kansas, 174-pounder Nick Meck of Topeka, Kansas, and 184-pounder Micquille Robinson of Wichita, Kansas.
