On Thursday, October 12, the Resident Hall Association held their weekly meeting at 6:30 pm in R2 of McMindes Hall.
Seven out of eleven representatives from across campus were present to vote on the main issue of the night, residential life costs. The association voted on raising the costs of residential housing for the 2018-2019 academic school year.
Although these costs are going up slightly, Fort Hays students will be pleased to know that they are paying far less than most schools across the nation, while still acquiring an excellent education.
Students will also be pleased to know that Christina Hurtado, Director of Residential Life, is also trying to do away with the $200 security deposit needed for Stadium and Wooster Place Apartments.
The vote passed with five to zero in favor with two abstaining.
RHA will host their next meeting on Thursday, October 19, at 6:30 pm.
