Tuesday afternoon from 4-6 pm, students gathered in Forsyth Library to enjoy food, mini golf and, most importantly, to learn what services the library has to offer. The library offers countless services for Fort Hays students, including Tiger Food Exchange, the Writing Center, and the Learning Commons.

Tiger Food Exchange provides students with access to canned foods, packaged foods, and even fresh foods every Friday. Students are encouraged to partake in the pantry whenever they find themselves low on funds at the end of the month.

The Writing Center and its team are determined to provide a respectful environment for students who need assistance with anything from understanding assignment guidelines to receiving feedback on applications or resumes. To make an appointment for the writing center, visit https://www.fhsu.edu/WritingCenter/.

If students ever need help with technology or want to gather, study, or collaborate with classmates, they are encouraged to go to the Learning Commons in Forsyth Library. Students can find assistance with various software, edit video or audio clips, and even creating presentations.

Cyndi Landis, Outreach Services Specialist at Forsyth Library, believes that the most important service that most students do not know about is the “Ask a Librarian” service. If students are in their dorm working on an assignment, they can chat online with a librarian who can help them find articles for a paper, start a bibliography, or make correct citations.

Forsyth Library is open for students from noon to midnight on Sunday, 7:30 AM to midnight Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday, and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday.
