HAYS, Kan. – The Fort Hays State baseball team wraps up its three-game series with Washburn Wednesday (April 5) at Larks Park. First pitch in the midweek matinee is set for 4 p.m.
Looking to avoid the season sweep, the Tigers head into the week with an 8-22 record this season, including a 1-16 mark in MIAA action. The Ichabods carry a 19-12 record to date, going 11-9 in league play.
Fort Hays State leads the all-time series, 104-81, while Washburn holds a slight 11-10 advantage since head coach Steve Johnson took over in 2011.
Two Tigers rank in the top-10 statistically in NCAA Division II, with Nick Hammeke ranking ninth with 14 doubles and Ty Redington sitting in eighth with 20 steals this season. Both totals are good for second in the conference.
A four-game home stand will continue this weekend (April 7-9) for the Tigers when they host Lindenwood.
