Fort Hays State faces Bethel College in non-conference action tonight (Dec. 14) at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. Tipoff of the men’s game is set for 7:30 pm, which follows the women’s game with Tabor at 5:30 pm.
The Tigers are coming off a loss to Emporia State this past Saturday in Hays by a score of 75-67. The Tigers never recovered from a 10-point halftime deficit and dropped to 6-4 overall, 2-2 in the MIAA. Rob Davis scored over 30 points for the third time this season with 32 against the Hornets. He ranks second in the MIAA in scoring at 23.4 points per game.
Hadley Gillum is the only other Tiger averaging double figures in scoring at 13.6 points per game. JaQuan Smith is the team leader in rebounding at 7.5 per game, while Kyler Kinnamon averages a team-best 2.8 assists per game.
Bethel enters this contest at 8-5 overall on the season. This is an exhibition game for the Threshers, while it counts for the Tigers. Deven Goodwin leads the Threshers in scoring at 22.1 points per game, while Austin Mitchell and Chase Banister also average double figures.
