Fort Hays State University has made a name for itself once again by establishing the very first residence hall focused on students who are interested in entrepreneurship. Funded by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, the Dane G. Hansen Hall houses 32 full-time students of any major and offers students with similar passions a place to work together and expand their knowledge.
The main floor of Hansen Hall houses one of its more distinguishing features. Known as the “E-Lab”, this large conference room will be used by the residents to have conference calls with industry leaders from around the world, allowing students to learn first-hand what life as an Entrepreneur is like. This room will also be the location of many of the Entrepreneurial Department’s events and activities.
The main floor is also the location of another interesting feature of Hansen Hall, the “Team Building Rooms.” These three rooms are locations where students can get away from the noise of campus and work on their projects or homework together. The Team Building Rooms have glass walls and large, sliding doors, which make the rooms as aesthetically pleasing as they are innovative.
Fort Hays State University has been making itself stand out from other colleges since its founding, and the establishment of Dane G. Hansen Hall has made FHSU stand out even more. Thanks to the generous donations of those involved with the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, the future Entrepreneurs of FHSU will have the tools and knowledge necessary to make themselves and FHSU even better.
