Five FHSU Students-Athletes Earn MIAA Academic Excellence Award

FHSU SPORTS INFORMATION DEPARTMENT

Fort Hays State had five student-athletes earn the MIAA Academic Excellence Award for 2015-16. Earning the honors were Jessica Babyak (women’s soccer), Erin Elmore (softball), Kailey Klibbe (volleyball), Lisa Penner (women’s cross country/track and field), and Taylor Tustin (women’s cross country/track and field). The Academic Excellence Award goes to student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.

Elmore was the only repeat recipient of the award for the Tigers this year as the other four were freshmen in 2015-16. Elmore, a senior this year, maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her playing career that included two years at Rose State College in Oklahoma and two years at FHSU.
