Men’s Golf Places Eighth at Bethel Invitational

NEWTON, Kan. – Fort Hays State Men’s Golf finished eighth at the Bethel Invitational, held April 2-3. The first round of the tournament was played at Hesston Municipal Golf Park and the second round was held at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton. Lane Pauls led the way for FHSU, finishing third as an individual at just 3-over par overall over the two rounds.

Pauls shot rounds of 1-over 72 on the first day and a 2-over par 74 on the second day. He finished just three strokes back of the individual champion, Kantapong Chaisiriwichian of Dodge City Community College, who shot even par overall. Brian Krehbiel of Bethel College shot 2-over to finish second.

Seve Sites also turned in a top-10 finish for FHSU in 10th with a total of 6-over par with rounds of 73 and 76. Koby Beougher tied for 43rd with rounds of 77 and 79. Cash Hobson tied for 91st with rounds of 83 and 85. Jake Weller tied for 105th with rounds of 87 and 85.

Fort Hays State shot rounds of 305 and 314 for a total of 619 to finish eighth among the 17 schools competing. Dodge City Community College won the tournament at 585.
