Tennis Gets Shut Out by No. 11 Ranked Southwest Baptist

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Fort Hays State Tennis was shut out on Saturday (Apr. 2) by No. 11 ranked Southwest Baptist. The Tigers moved to 7-8 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA, while the Bearcats improved to 11-3 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA.

The Bearcats surrenderd only three points in doubles action to the Tigers. The No. 2 team of Alina Villalovos and Raven Dick fell in their match 8-2, while the No. 3 team of Haley Weidemann and Taylor Noel scored just one point.

Southwest Baptist won all six singles matches in straight sets. Haley Weidemann scored the most points at the No. 5 position, falling 6-2, 6-2 in her match.

The Tigers return to action next weekend (Apr. 8-9) at Emporia State and Washburn in another pair of MIAA matches.
