MESA, Ariz. – Fort Hays State finished seventh in the FHSU Spring Thaw, an event hosted by the Tigers in Arizona to start the spring portion of its season. Hannah Perkins led the Tigers by finishing in a tie for 16th individually.
Perkins shot the only sub-80 round of the tournament for the Tigers in the second round on Tuesday. She shot 77 in her second round after carding 85 on the first day.
Hannah Karasiuk tied for 27th with rounds of 84 and 87, Kylie McCarthy tied for 31st with rounds of 90 and 84. Kelsey McCarthy tied for 38th with rounds of 93 and 85. Bailey Jones had rounds of 102 and 98 to finish 52nd.
Colorado Mesa won the tournament with a team score of 623. UC-Colorado Springs finished second with 639 and Winona State was third with 643. The Tigers shot 685 as a team. Katya Hoffman of Winona State was the individual champion with two rounds of 74, shooting just 4-over par.
