TOPEKA, Kan. – Fort Hays State men’s golf opened its spring season with a 10th-place finish at the Washburn Invitational. The tournament was held at the Topeka Country Club, a par-71 layout.
Lane Pauls led the way for the Tigers, tying for 30th with a total of 232. He shot rounds of 75, 75, and 82. Koby Beougher tied for 45th with rounds of 79, 84, and 76. Jake Weller tied for 51st after rounds of 82, 82, and 78. Seve Sites, in his first tournament as a Tiger, shot rounds of 81, 83, and 84 to tie for 72nd. Cash Hobson tied for 85th with rounds of 87, 90, and 84.
The Tigers shot 961 as a team. Washburn won the tournament with a total of 873. Lindenwood was second with 886 and Bethany College finished third at 912. Yente Van Doren from Lindenwood was the individual champion, who shot just two-over par overall with a total of 215.
