Wrestling Competes in MIAA Championships Sunday in St. Charles

Fort Hays State wrestling heads to St. Charles, Mo., today for a test at the MIAA Championships. The Tigers finished the dual season with an overall record of 7-5 and completed the MIAA dual season with a record of 2-3, good for a fourth-place finish.

A new format to the tournament this season will allow each school to bring their starting 10 wrestlers but also up to three additional wrestlers. These additional wrestlers will not be awarded any team points for their victories, but will allow brackets to be more complete and those individuals to gain experience.

The Tigers finished third at the 2015 MIAA championships and Jon Inman looks to defend his individual title at 184 pounds. Inman, the No. 6 wrestler in the nation at 184 pounds, has put together a phenomenal season this year with an overall record of 29-1 and is undefeated in Division II action.

Another Tiger wrestler to keep an eye on is Bradley Little at 149 pounds. Since January 15th, Little has been wrestling at 149 pounds and has gone 3-0 in MIAA matches and 10-1 overall in that stretch.

Adam Ludwin at 125 pounds has put together his fifth 20-win season for the Tigers on his way to an overall record of 20-8 so far.

Joey Dozier (157) looks for a career high for wins in a season and can do so with one victory this weekend. Dozier tied his career high in wins (14) on Thursday (Feb. 11) with a 3-1 decision against Colton Duhr of Newman.
