Fort Hays State Baseball opens the 2016 season on Saturday, February 6 at New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, N.M. The Tigers will play a three-game series against the Cowboys, spanning Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Start times for the first two days are 1 pm, while Monday’s start time is 12 pm.
The Tigers look for their first win in a season opener since 2012 after a pair of 0-2 starts in 2015 and 2014 and a loss in the opening game of 2013. FHSU is coming off a 19-28 season last year. Head coach Steve Johnson is in his sixth year guiding the team, now with 116 wins in his time at FHSU. He has 351 wins total in his career as a college coach.
