Fort Hays State, ranked No. 3 in the latest WBCA Division II Poll, closes out a two-game weekend road swing in Missouri on Saturday (Jan. 9) at Lincoln University. The game is set to begin at 1:30 pm inside Jason Gym in Jefferson City. FHSU enters the game at 13-1 overall, 7-1 in the MIAA, while Lincoln is 6-8 overall and 2-6 in the MIAA.

The Tigers are coming off a hard-fought 65-59 win at Lindenwood on Thursday evening. The Tigers held leads of eight points several times throughout the game, but needed a final push to hold off the upset-minded Lions. FHSU looks to keep their focus locked in against a struggling Lincoln squad, which will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Fort Hays State enters the game on a three-game win streak.

The Tigers also look to keep pressure on Missouri Western at the top of the MIAA standings. The Griffons are 8-0 in conference play going into their contest with Northwest Missouri State on Saturday. Fort Hays State is currently in second place alone, but Emporia State and Washburn are both 6-2 in the conference in third place.

Chelsea Mason reached 1,000 points as a Tiger in the win over Lindenwood on Thursday. With her last basket of the game in a 21-point effort, she went past the milestone, becoming the 18th player in the program’s history to accomplish the feat. She now has 1,001 points as a Tiger, now in her third year after transferring from Kennesaw State University following her freshman year. With 286 points at Kennesaw State, she now has a total of 1,287 in her collegiate career. Mason leads the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game and Thursday marked the third time she scored over 20 points in a game this year.

Jill Faxon and Beth Bohuslavsky are also averaging double figures, Faxon at 12.2 points per game and Bohuslavsky at 12.1 per game. Paige Lunsford adds 9.6 points per game and is tied for the team lead in rebounding with Faxon and Mason, all at 4.9 per game. Bohuslavsky leads the team in assists at 2.8 per game.
