Castorino Earns NSCAA All-America Honors

FHSU Sports Information Department

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State sophomore forward Mauricio Castorino has been named an NSCAA All-America selection for the 2015 season. Castorino is a third-team selection at forward, giving FHSU its fourth All-America selection in just five years of the program’s existence. Castorino, however, is the first-ever in program history to earn an All-America selection from the NSCAA, as the previous three were Daktronics All-America selections.

Castorino is the second-straight MIAA Player of the Year for Fort Hays State as midfielder Tanner Brock earned the distinction last year. Brock went on to earn All-America Third Team honors in the midfield by Daktronics. Castorino is the first-ever Region Player of the Year for FHSU, earning the distinction from D2CCA this year.

Castorino led the MIAA in points this year with 28, finishing the year with 10 goals and eight assists. He helped guide the Tigers to a new program record for wins (13) and the team’s second consecutive Central Region Championship in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers went 13-5-2 overall and advanced to the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
