The Fort Hays State women’s soccer team looks to end the regular season on a strong note as they invite Nebraska-Kearney to Hays, Kan. on Friday (Oct. 30) before heading to Topeka, Kan. Sunday to take on Washburn. The Tigers enter the final week with an overall record of 8-7-1 and currently hold a fourth place tie in the MIAA at 5-4.
Nebraska-Kearney is 4-8-4 overall and 3-4-2 in the MIAA, which pairs them in an eighth-place tie in the conference. The Tigers beat the Lopers in the first matchup of the season in what was considered a non-conference game by the score of 3-0. Fort Hays State’s seniors will be honored on Friday night at the game with it being the last home regular season contest.
Washburn heads to Emporia State on Friday (Oct 30) before inviting the Tigers to town for the last game of the regular season. Heading into the weekend the Ichabods are toting an overall record of 4-7-5 and MIAA record of 3-4-2, which ties them with Nebraska-Kearney, and Lindenwood for eighth in the conference. The Tigers and Ichabods tied a non-conference contest last week in Hays.
The postseason begins with the MIAA Tournament first round on Wednesday (Nov. 4) at locations to be determined after the final week of regular season play.
