The Fort Hays State women’s soccer team kicks off MIAA play this weekend in Hays on Friday and Sunday. The Tigers head into the weekend sporting a 3-3 record so far in the 2015 season.

The first game of the weekend welcomes Southwest Baptist to FHSU Soccer Stadium on Friday (Sept. 25) at 6 pm.

Both teams will be trying to extend their winning streaks, with the Tigers winning their last two and the Bearcats their last three. SBU is also 3-3 on the season.

Fort Hays State’s offense caught fire in their last two matches against Nebraska-Kearney and Emporia State, scoring three goals in each after having just three goals in the first four games of the season. The Tiger offense is led by Kylee Loneker, who has two goals on the season, and by Cassi Moosburger who has a goal and three assists to her name.

The second test for the Tigers will be on Sunday (Sept. 27) when they host Missouri Southern at 2:30 pm. The Lions take on Nebraska-Kearney in their first MIAA action of the season Friday before coming to Hays for their match against the Tigers.

Heading into the weekend the Lions have a 2-4 record, but they average 1.67 goals per game. Four MSSU players are tied for the team lead in goals with two each. (Hannah Bomar, Hannah Cook, Bailey North, and Carly Cecil).
