Fort Hays State Volleyball swept a pair of matches on Friday (Sept. 11) in Durant, Okla., to move to 3-3 overall on the season. The Tigers defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State on its home floor in straight sets, then battled to a 3-1 win over Southern Nazarene.

Three Tigers provided the majority of offense in a straight set win over Southeastern Oklahoma State. Crystal Whitten, Rebekah Spainhour, and Mallory Flagor all reached double figures in kills as the Tigers won sets by scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-23.
The Tigers scored the first three points of the first set and never looked back in a nine-point victory. FHSU led by as many as 15 points. In the second set, FHSU trailed 13-12 before going on a 5-0 run to lead 17-13. FHSU went on to win by eight. In the third, the Tigers gained a five-point lead early and won three of the last four points to hang on for a two-point win.
Whitten led the Tigers with 13 kills and committed just two errors to hit .440 in the match. Spainhour was right on her heels in hitting percentage, putting down 12 kills with just three errors to hit .429. Flagor was also efficient, hitting .385 with 12 kills and just two errors. Whitten finished with a double-double, adding 11 digs.
Hannah Wagy distributed 35 assists, while Kailey Klibbe led the Tigers in digs with 16. FHSU hit .271 as a team and held Southeastern Oklahoma to .114.

With the match tied 1-1, the Tigers won three straight points to pull out the pivotal third set before going on to blow out Southern Nazarene in the fourth for a 3-1 win.
The Tigers took the first set by a score of 25-21 before struggling to a 25-13 loss in the second set. FHSU led 23-22 in the third set before SNU won two straight points. The Tigers fought off the set point for SNU, going on to score three straight points and take the set 26-24. The Tigers ran away with the fourth set, going on a 15-2 run to lead 22-5. FHSU eventually closed out the fourth by a score of 25-12.
Crystal Whitten had a big match, producing a double-double of 17 kills and 17 digs. She hit .306 in the match. Mallory Flagor added 16 kills and hit .214. Hannah Wagy had 37 assists and Kailey Klibbe matched Whitten in digs with 17.
The Tigers play two matches on Saturday in Ada, Okla. FHSU takes on East Central at 12 pm and then Cameron at 5 pm.
