Wineinger Leads Tigers to Victory at Trojan Invitational

The Fort Hays State men’s cross country team was victorious at the Trojan Invitational, hosted by Colby Community College, on Friday (Sept. 4). Troy Wineinger led the Tigers by winning the race individually. The Tigers topped a field of four teams.

Wineinger covered the 5K course in a time of 15:07, topping a field of 34 individuals. Israel Barco finished fourth in a time of 15:32 and Isaac Williams was fifth in 15:35. Justin Montney crossed the line in sixth in a time of 15:42 and Layton Werth rounded out the team scoring for FHSU in eighth at 15:45. FHSU put together a team score of 20, as two of the top eight finishers were unattached.

FHSU heads to Johnson, Kan., on September 11 for a dual with CSU-Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands.
