FHSU Men’s Golf Chosen 10th in the MIAA Preseason Poll

FHSU Sports Information Department

Fort Hays State men’s golf was selected 10th in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, released on Wednesday (Aug. 26).

The team has several new faces this year. There are five incoming freshman and three transfers from the community college ranks teeing it up for the Tigers this year. Another new face to the program is first-year head coach Sean Dreiling.

With only two returning golfers from last year (Kade Megaffin and Micah Fabarez) and so many new faces, it will be interesting to see how the season plays out. The Tigers’ best finish as a team in the 2014-15 season came at the Lindenwood Invitational, where they took eighth place. Two-time All-MIAA selection and NCAA Super Regional participant Trey Herman graduated, so the Tigers look for new leadership on the links this year.

The Tigers open up their season on September 14-15 at the MSSU Fall Invitational, held in Monkey Island, Okla.
