Women’s and Men’s Teams; Five Individuals Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Status

NEW ORLEANS – Fort Hays State track and field had five individuals earn United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors for the 2015 season, while both the women’s and men’s teams were named All-Academic Teams. Three members of the men’s squad and two members of the women’s squad earned scholar-athlete status.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic status, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either indoor or outdoor seasons.

Cory Keehn, Jake Morrow, and Brady Tien are among 239 men in NCAA Division II to earn the honor. Rachael Monteiland Madison Wolf are among 450 women to earn the honor.

The Fort Hays State women’s team was one of 115 women’s teams at the Division II level to earn All-Academic Team status. The men’s team was one of 62 in Division II to earn the honor. The FHSU women posted a team GPA of 3.29, while the men had a GPA of 3.05. Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn the distinction.
