TMN Live from UCO (ARCHIVE VIDEO)!

Tyler Parka (commentator):
Oklahoma. It has been a big night for Keriann Shaw already. We are 15 minutes into the game and she has 8 rebounds. She had 7 rebounds for the first 7 minutes. She’s having herself a night. After coming out to a slow start, Bronchos led 7 to 5 in the first 5 minutes. We now lead 21 to 12. We’ve been on a huge run as of late, couple three pointers, couple big three pointers. Just finally playing Tiger basketball after not playing Tiger basketball for the first 5 minutes.

Shaw with 3, and again the 8 rebounds already early in the game. For the Bronchos, maybe. I might get you some stats. Julia Ward, 3 rebounds. I’m sorry, Julia Mason, 10 points already and 2 rebounds. She’s having a great night against Leeman. Leeman’s got, I don’t know, 5 inches on her maybe. She’s playing tough down low. Scoring the most of anyone on the court. She has 10 of the 12 points from the Bronchos. Obviously only 2 Bronchos have scored. Be interesting to see who’s ball that is.

Yeah, big win, Tiger’s need to play good today like we talked about earlier, carry that over to the post-season tournaments, both the MIAA Tournament and then going into the national tournament which, as of the most recent ranking, they are #1 in the central region so they host the tournament. They need to carry this over, play well here, play well against Northwestern State — Northeastern State, I’m sorry, Northeastern Oklahoma, move that on into next week semi-Double A tournament. We’ll be bringing you more updates throughout the day. The score is 21 to 12. Late in the first half four, minutes to go. I’m Tyler Parks for the Tiger Media Network and my producer Ken Moreno as always.

Tyler Parka (commentator):
Reporting live, I’m Tyler Parks with TMN. Broncho’s here pushing out. Missing a rebound has been out all night. All second half them getting offensive rebounds, resetting up their offense. It’s now 51 to 47, Fort Hays State, State is nursing a four point lead. The Bronchos have outscored the Tigers by ten points here in the second half and it doesn’t look good for the Tigers. They’re winning, yes, but they’re not playing their game. They had a good second half of the first half, if that makes sense, the latter half of the first half, but this entire second half has not been good for the Tigers. UCO has scored 33 points already in this second half which is much, much more than their forward team they scored in the first half over double.

She leads the Tigers with 14 points. Chelsea Mason also hitting threes, has 11 points. 12 rebounds already, nine, has three points, but here big contribution on that has been on the glass. She’s 12 rebounds already, she had eight rebounds in the first eight minutes. Amazing stuff from her. Julia Mason, who scored ten points in the first half of the Bronchos has 13 and it makes sense. They only had three players score in the first half. They now have eight players on the court for them. A little different second half here for the Bronchos, much better second half for the Bronchos. Chelsea Robinson, who I think had two in the first half, now has 11 points. How about a big second half for her?

Like I said, outscored by ten points, it’s 33-23 here if you just count the second half score. They’ve been on a big run here. Hopefully the girls can pull it out, four and half minutes to seal this deal and move to Northwestern State much better.

Like we’ve said, they’ve already won the MIAA Conference, but these wins help steamroll them into the MIAA tournament which they have a first round for them, Pit and Emporia, three of the four Kansas schools here in the MIAA have already in Kansas City and a free throw here, this awesome Mario Brothers sound, and we’re not going to get it this time, of course. Now 48-51, three points, the closest they’ve been since the first half, I believe.

They’ve been within four or quite a few targets here in the second half but have never been able to push it past that and here in her spot and it gets blocked. Oh my goodness it gets blocked but she gets her arm on the follow-through. It’s a clean block, she just hit her on the follow through, good block. That’ll, we hope not, but most likely it will. We got Faxon here at the, let’s see if we can get you those free throws, you can see them through the glass. Four minutes left to go and re-game, Faxon needs these. It’s been that kind of night for the Tigers; good shot selection, just unable to put it in I guess. In and out the whole night.

We’ll get that one, Shaw comes out after an amazing performance here already tonight. Again, we’re at the Hamilton Field House here in Edmund Oklahoma where the Tigers are facing University of Central Oklahoma. That pushes the lead back to five. Jordan Ward near the point guard; great player. Like we see coast to coast, untouched, everybody seems to be on Julia Mason, #21 here, who has been doing a very good judged, and her average is 10.3 points per game throughout this season, has 13 tonight. Faxon misses a three. We’ve got about three and a half minutes left to go in the game. We’ll bring you an update either in the closing seconds or after the game. Tigers up by three and a close one at Edmund. I’m Tyler Parks, my producer Ken Moreno, we’ll bring you more later.

Are we still live? Because they just tied the game at 53! Big. We’re still live? Big shot there, three pointer. Gets them tied here. Wait in the second half, we’ve been unable to score all night and she gets her own rebound. Remember, we can keep this going for the rest of the game; just under three minutes left, score is tied at 53. Every time Mason gets the ball it gets like that. And one! Looked like it was on the floor, up at the big play here, three point opportunity.

Tyler Parka (commentator):
All right, Tyler Parks, Tiger Media Network, two point lead here with Lunsford at the line. We’ll come back to you as soon as we can. Tyler Parks, Tiger Media Network, stay tuned! That’s the three pointer. Shaw checks back in.

In Edmund Oklahoma where the Tigers hold a one point lead over the Bronchos with six seconds left. Bohuslavsky just went down with an apparent knee injury. They help her off the field, she couldn’t even put weight on it.

Time out, Tigers. There’s a huge foul discrepancy here. Tigers have about 12 here in the second half, Bronchos have six, which has worked out for the Tigers because the Bronchos haven’t been able to make a free throw. Again, Tigers need this just to carry that momentum into the MIAA Tournament. To stay up in the higher level to actually host an MIAA game, host the first round here. Yeah.

I’m Tyler Parks live in Edmund. Six seconds left, one point lead. Tigers need to hold them here. Let’s see how they can do without their field commander on the court. Give them these last seconds here. It is Tiger basketball and Faxon is fouled immediately.

Suppose if there’s someone– you want foul then it’s Chelsea Mason or Jill, both great shooters, Faxon will be at the line. She was leading all Tigers last week. Faxon was about 14 points, another timeout here. Still about six seconds left. It’s going to be the longest six seconds of the game. To give you an indication, if you haven’t been tuning in with us, it was 28-14, the Tigers at the half-way mark.

Bronchos will come out here the second half and look like a completely different team, but only three Bronchos scored in the first half. One of them had up to the 14 points, so that will give you an indication of how much different the second half has been. Eight Bronchos have actually scored in the game now. Five more than the first half.

Tigers getting the ball here late, kind of a lackluster crowd here, not what we really expected. Home these final two games. They do have a game on Saturday against Kearney, the Bronchos further this year on January 15th, there was an eight point victory. This is a tough game.

When you get down to the season, you’ve got to close out these games. Big rebound! Big rebound by Keriann Shaw, all big. That’s her 13th or 14th rebound. She’s having a great deal on the glass. Huge day.

There’s free throws here, big free throws. She misses it; nope, yes. And the game runs out! They run out the clock. Not what I expected good defense like Keriann Shaw, good defense like Keriann Shaw, stops Julian Mason – excuse me – from driving the ball down the court. Doesn’t even get it a court, doesn’t even get it to half-court, stops the shot from even being attempted. The final here is 56-55, a close one, as tries to upset’s the Tigers. Great team by both teams, big second half for Central Oklahoma. Close it out for the Tigers. Big land, they’ll use this, going to Northwestern State on Saturday. Great, great, game. Sloppy game but a good finish here by the Tigers. We’re hoping Bohuslavsky cam come back on Saturday.

It looked very painful. She went down with a knee injury earlier. We’ll give you an update when we can get one. We’ve got the men’s game coming up here in about 45 minutes and we’ll bring you more updates on the men game. Again, a very tight one here in Edmund. 56-55 is your final, big night by Kerriann Shaw.

Didn’t play a lot of points but came out with about 15 or so rebounds. We’ve got the basketball team coming in here getting pumped up for the game. Maybe in 20 minutes, I don’t know, they’re changing the clock on us. Men’s team here looking to get a big victory; get that home court advantage to the first round of the MIAA tournament which is hosted at the Home sites. It’s 5 through 8, host 9 through 12, Tigers are about that 9, 10, 11 slot, 12 slot, but, then Kearney, Central Oklahoma’s having a great year on the men’s side. We’ll bring you more updates closer to game time. We’re going to wrap it for now, talk about the– we’ll talk about the men’s game later. In the middle of this, making it hard to do.

Again, final was 56-55, Bohuslavsky goes down late. Great game. Tough game you want to see here in MIAA with the tournament approaching. We’ll bring you more updates for the men’s game and we’ll bring you updates Saturday from Northeastern Oklahoma. Stay tuned for more.

Tyler Parks:
And women’s basketball coach Tony Hobson. Close one here tonight, Oklahoma, pulled out a victory. How does it feel moving forward with another win?

Coach Hobson:
It sure wasn’t easy. We had to scratch and claw just to stay in there because we’ve had about everything that could go wrong the month. A lot of fouls called, we couldn’t keep them out of the lane, we couldn’t make a basket, we missed There’s a perfect storm to lose a game, some how or another we were able to hang in there, Kerriann Shaw took a charge there, big play, and then she got an offensive rebound on this free throw , so did just enough to get out of here with the W.

Tyler Parks:
Speaking of Shaw, she had a huge night, not necessarily in points. Her and Mason combined for probably 25, 30 rebounds between the two of them. Big night for the seniors here, and Edmund, moving into the MIAA tournament you want hard battles like this. Looking ahead, we have Northeastern State on Saturday. Just carrying the momentum, what are you guys looking to do there?

Coach Hobson:
It’s going to be tough on Saturday because we’re probably going to play without Beth and I think that Beth is, if not the best point guard in the conference, she’s one of the top two or three, for sure, so chances are we’ll be without her hopefully just for Saturday but that’s going to make it tough because Northeastern’s a tough place to play and I just thought we did not have any energy the second half and that led to the fouls, that led to not as many rebounds, misshots, and I just think that if you can play with energy you make more shots, you get better shots, so we have to find some way to just suck it up a little bit and play on Saturday.

Tyler Parks:
Yeah, along road here. I don’t know if that the girls. I thought the shot selections were good, they just weren’t falling for you guys tonight.

Coach Hobson:
We got good shots. Jill had some big ones down the stretch, but she had some other good. She could have had 25, 30 points tonight and she would have been fine. We had a hard time getting it in the cape and any time that we struggle and she scores six points, we’re going to struggle offensively because we go through her a lot.

Tyler Parks:
Six points is still a victory, that’s a positive, I guess.

Coach Hobson:
We’ll take it.

Tyler Parks:
Well, good win tonight, good luck moving forward, hopefully we’ll see you on Saturday and good luck.

Coach Hobson:
Okay, thank you.

Tyler Parks:
Thank you.

Coach Hobson:
Thanks, man. Good props.

Tyler Parks (commentator):
Yeah. Let’s go in and see if we can catch some of the men’s warmup. Game starts in like five minutes or so. Hey, good game tonight. Good game. Why is that funny?

Ken Moreno (producer):
Cus we’re live.

Tyler Parks:
I don’t care, minutes to game time, not five. The Tigers look to maintain that seventh or eight spot, keep a home playoff game alive and an MIAA Tournament game alive. In fact, Central Oklahoma, top, top team. My producer Ken Moreno with the Tiger Media Network, we’re about two and a half minutes to game time. Tough match up here with the Tigers as they take on the Bronchos with UCL. We’ll see if Ken can get that shot off eventually.

Tyler Parks (commentator):
Now we’re reporting live from Edmond, Oklahoma where the Fort Hays State Tigers are taking on the Central Oklahoma Broncos. A big match-up for both teams, trying to stay in that five through eight range to host a MIAA game at home. Neither team can move past that point. They’re not going to get in that one through four spot. The MIAA is tight, it’s a tight conference. The top team has four losses. Tigers are sitting at number eight in the conference currently. They’re at nine and eight in the conference. UCO is ten and seven. They’re at number seven.

The team above them at six, they’ve played one less game. They’ll have another game to play ahead of UCO, but they’re looking to keep that seven/eight spot as are the Tigers, like I said, trying to host an MIAA tournament game at home. Not have to go on the road to play in to get to Kansas City. If you fall below that eight spot, nine through twelve have to go to five through eight. Current score, 10 to 9, Broncos are leading.

They just hit a big three, Broncos did. Turnover on the Broncos here. We’ll get that first media timeout here so it’s going to get really loud. Both coaches, Head Coach Mark Johnson for us and Terry Evans for them, have had long careers at their respected schools. This is Johnson’s fourteenth year at Fort Hays and it’s Evan’s thirteenth year at UCO. Long careers here. Pretty successful careers. UCO is notorious for being a wrestling school, but they have some pretty good men’s banners just above us. The crowds gotten a little more lively for this game than they were the women’s game. Men close out the season here and then Northeastern State on Saturday for the final game. All things going well they host an MIAA tournament game at home on Monday. We would be there for that. We would stream it live like always, but we’re on the road for these next couple days making sure the Tigers secure that spot. A loss here doesn’t end it for them, but it sure doesn’t help their chances of holding that number eight spot.

Again 10 to 9, first media timeout. We’ll bring you more updates throughout the game. Fleming, a player who’s come on really strong since the loss of Craig Nicholson. Tough, tough team here. FHSU does lead this series eleven to four, all time. That doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is here. I’m Tyler Parks for Tiger Media Network. We’re on with our producer Ken Moreno. We’re going to get out of here. We’ll bring you some more updates later as the game progresses. Tigers just took a lead. It’s now 11 to 10, early in the first half. UCO makes a big block. Big block by Royce Williams. And it’s off the Broncos. It’ll be Tigers ball. Big play by Royce there.

You need your seniors to play good down the stretch. Tigers have a lot of seniors. They start three. Fleming and Williams being two of those. Kite seeing some early action. Oooh. Big shot there. Fleming, again that senior showing what he’s got. 14 to 10 your score here. We’ll bring you more updates throughout the game. We’re about almost seven minutes in.

That should have been a travel, and that is a travel. Tiger basketball. Two straight turnovers by the Broncos there. I’m Tyler Parks with Tiger Media Network again… Oh, platoon subbing. Don’t see this too often. All five guys exchanged for another five guys.

Again, Tyler Parks. This is Tiger Media Network. Ken Moreno, producer. We’ll be back in about ten minutes or so at the next media break. Bring you some updates and some scores and some stats.

(Tiger Sports Network Intro)

Tyler Parks:
A very important game for both teams here, trying to stay in that top eight position. Tigers are led by Jeremy Wilson who has 8 points and 3 rebounds late in first half, in the final minute. It’s been a tight game for the most part because the Tigers did have a 10 point lead at one point. But a 7 – 0 run by the Broncos crushed that. It’s kind of been back and forth since then. Again, tight game. These teams are seven, UCO and eight, Tigers in the conference. Like I said, they have to maintain that top eight spot to host MIAA. [Inaudible 06:07] went up with UCO hitting two free throws. They’ve been trapping, as you can see, all night. They stopped and went to a full court, man, rather than a… well there comes the trap. Mark Johnson takes a timeout. He has been livid this entire game. I don’t think he’s grabbed a seat yet.

Again, final minute of the first half. The bands about to play. Crowds starting to fill up a little bit more than the women’s game was. Again, your women’s score, if you didn’t catch that, 56 – 55, in a tight game that didn’t really need to be tight. Lehman didn’t score double digits. Keriann Shaw did not score double digits, but both had double digit rebounds, which helped. Keriann Shaw’s play late sealed the victory for them. A one point victory down here in Edmond. Trying to carry that momentum on.

They have one game left, then it’s on to the MIAA tournament. The same for the men. They play here tonight and then they travel to Tahlequah on Saturday for Northeastern State. UCO plays Nebraska-Kearney who ran Fort Hays out of the gym last game. Fort Hays has to win this and win out to maintain that eight spot pretty much.

This is a big, important game. We’ll try and give you these… Tigers are probably going to look for a play here. Wilson and Williams are both out. I doubt we see an alley-oop of any sorts. They are going to hold it for fifteen more seconds, probably try and get a shot right at the last second.

Give the Broncos a tough time getting the last shot. The bank is open. Achoki Moikobu hits a three. Better lucky than good sometimes. Hell, he might have called glass, I don’t know. I wasn’t down there. A big shot there, take a three point lead here. Broncos will take the last… What would have been the tying shot rims out… considering they were up by ten.

This is a great Bronco team, don’t get it wrong. The 10 point lead was… they were platoon subbing, I think they had their second string in. Tigers are nine and eight in the conference, the Broncos are actually ten and seven. Like I said, the seventh and eighth spot here fighting to keep their home playoff chances alive. Not really playoff, but conference tournament hopes alive. I’m Tyler Parks. My producer Ken Moreno is with me, as always, down here in Edmond, Oklahoma. We’re bringing more

updates. Your halftime score is 34 – 31. We’ll bring you more updates in about twenty minutes or so. As soon as halftime gets over we’ll give you some more updates. Thanks for tuning in.

(Tiger Sports Network Intro)

Tyler Parks:
I’m Tyler Parks with Tyler Media Network here in Edmond. Broncos just took the lead with a three pointer. It’s now 61 – 59 in favor of the Broncos. And we missed a one and one, of course. Luckily we might have gotten another foul. We’ll be shooting double. It’s already double bonus for everything. Watch your step folks. Teams are in double bonus. We were looking at the banners earlier noticing that in 2011 they kind of came to a standstill on the banners. In the 2012 – 13 season is when UCO actually entered the MIAA, so all of those have come from a different conference. I’m assuming NAIA or one of those conferences.

Again, Tigers looked good there for a second [inaudible 10:13] it’s like we’ve seen all year. Again, just poor defense and poor execution has given the lead back. It’s now 60 – 61. One of Kite’s free throws goes in. We’ll stop here so Ken doesn’t fall down filming.

Seen a lot of it working inside just because they, like we said, the height advantage is all UCO. It is Tiger ball. Height advantages then they been working in low, getting the ball inside, scoring that way. Off of a James Fleming three and then we didn’t give up the lead until about five minute mark, which doesn’t matter until the end, of course. Achoki, another who has stepped up with the loss of Nicholson early in the season. Him and Fleming have kind of shared that role throughout the season. Samac, two time MIAA player of the week, having a good game here. Drew kite getting more and more playing time, can’t make the shot. He’s seeing more playing time as the season progresses. He is a red-shirt freshman.

That was not good. Oh good block there on Samac. Now what you want to see, but again, the height advantage is all UCO. That’s goal tending, they’ll get the two points. Give it to them there. That move by Samac, reaching up with that back hand and grabbing the rim. The girls have stuck around, supporting the Tigers here, as are we and a few other people. The gym isn’t as full as we thought it might be here tonight, but still a decent crowd. Loud enough in this small, confined space. They’re, again, setting that trap up again. As we’ve seen all game, full court pressure. We’ve seen a little platoon subbing tonight from UCS, which you don’t normally see at this level, or any level, really, other than Kentucky who has ten solid players.

That could have got really bad. Oh, it was a foul up top. Not the shooter, but we’ll get two shots here. Broncos lead by three. It’s 63 – 60. We’ll be bringing you more updates as the game gets closer to the end. About three and a half left. Wing another point, down by two. We’ll finish out these free throws then we’ll move on and take a break until we come back with the final score. Be about seven minutes, probably, when we come back from now. Jeremy Wilson hits them both. We’re down one, three and a half to go. I’m Tyler Parks, my producer Ken Moreno. This is the Tiger Media Network.

(Tiger Sports Network Intro)

Tyler Parks:
I don’t think that ever hit the rim. Here we are in Edmond. One point game, fourteen seconds left, Tiger ball. It’s been back and forth this entire second half. Broncos came out to an early lead, but Tigers have fought back and it has been close this second half. It is the game we expected to see, seven versus eight, fighting for that final spot to host an MIAA tournament game. Tyler Parks, Tiger Media Network, here in Edmond. As we are in the closing seconds of this men’s game. 65 – 64, tight game, exactly what we expected. Tigers ball here, fifteen seconds left. Shot clock is turned off. One final shot here. One point, all you need. No stupid plays. Not a lot of people here, it still gets pretty noisy. It’s a tightly contained area. I think the women’s basketball team is about all we have for a cheering section at this point.

Again, size has become a factor as they’re about three inches taller across the board. This final possession here, hopefully we can make something happen. We only need a point to send it to overtime. A simple layup would win it for us, here at the end. I’m going to let you guys watch this.

Enjoy the final seconds of this game. Fleming got the ball at the top, top of the key, dribbling. They try to clear it out for him. He shoots. He misses. Good bounce UCO. Tiger basketball, three point four seconds left. It’s getting exciting. Timeout Tigers, three point four seconds left in the game. We got a good one here. Out of bounds UCO, Tiger basketball.

Again, one point game, a foul would be two shots. In the double bonus, both teams. One point game. Exactly what we expected to see here. Two great teams fighting out for that final spot in the MIAA. Hosting a game, I guess.

Mark Johnson drawing up a final play. Hopefully get one in. All they need’s a free throw to tie it, send it to overtime. We have the momentum. We’ve been fighting hard the second half. Everybody out there. They didn’t travel all this way, the six hours [inaudible 16:28] travel, you missed a heck of a game. Both games. The women’s game was decided by a single point. This one right now is within one point.

Hopefully Ken has a good shot for you. You can see all this. Final play, Mark Johnson giving them the final words of encouragement. Asked the bench to sit down. [Inaudible 16:51]. Samac! Oh he missed it, but he got the foul! Point two seconds left. Misses the shot, but gets the foul. Huge foul there. Point two seconds left. This is it, these final free throws. Dom Samac, the guy you want at the line. Two time MIAA player of the week, comes on strong, best sixth man in the conference in my opinion.

The crowd is actually getting involved at this point. My heart is pounding. I don’t know if you can hear it in the synthesizer or not, but it is pounding. Big, big game here for the Tigers. UCO timeout, maybe. No. All right, here we go. Here we go. We only need one to send it to overtime. Two wins this for us. The gym is getting loud. Everybody’s on their feet. Oh. It doesn’t get any closer than that. Oh my gosh. People bought their seats, but they only needed the edge. Bought the whole seat. Six? Wow, six men on the court. That’s not good. Here we go Dom. One shot, timeout.

UCO’s icing Dom here. Like I said, the longest twenty-seven seconds of the game right here. Got one free throw left. Point two seconds left. A tip in is the best you can hope for. Samac has one. He can tie it or get the rebound, put it in, if there’s enough time. I doubt there’s enough time.

Samac here comes to the line, one free throw left. Point two seconds left. One point game. Tigers are down by one. Biggest free throw of the year right here. It is the loudest this gym has been all day. Here it goes. Samac hits it! 65 – 65. We’re going to overtime. Wouldn’t have counted anyway.

Tyler Parks:
I’m Tyler Parks with the Tiger Media Network here. We’re going to overtime. 65 – 65 here in Edmond. Great game. Great second half for this Tiger team. Fought back, doing great. We’ll bring you more updates. We got a five minute overtime quarter coming up. So stay tuned. Ken and I will bring you updates throughout the overtime. We’re going to take a quick break, but stay tuned.

(Tiger Sports Network Intro)

Tyler Parks:
76 – 69, your final here in Edmond. Tigers fall in overtime to the Broncos. Rough night, rough second half, really. Samac led all Tigers with 16 points. He added 5 rebounds to that and he hit the free throw that sent it into overtime, probably the most important point of the game. Gabric ends the game with 11. Fleming and Wilson added 10. We had four Tigers score in double digits. Big story, Mahlon Jones, who appeared to play forty minutes. He played an entire game tonight if you add in overtime.

He had 26 points for the Broncos. Again, tough loss here. Tigers move to nine and nine in the MIAA and sixteen and eleven on the season. They can still get that eighth spot if things go their way, I believe. UCO moves to eleven and seven. They might move up, depending on what the people ahead of them do.

Great, great, great tonight. Can’t stress it enough, amazing game. One point game for most of the second half. It was back and forth. There wasn’t a lot of people, but there was a lot of noise for the people that were here. Great turnout for UCO I guess. Women win by one. Men fall by seven or eight here in overtime. Tough loss. Much, much needed win.

Both teams will be in Tahlequah for Northeastern State on Saturday. Come out, support us. Watch us, whatever you feel like you need to do. Tahlequah’s a ways away, but great game here in Edmond, Oklahoma. Great game by Central. I guess credit’s got to go out to Mahlon Jones who, has probably one of the better games in the conference and finished with 26 points on the night. Again, tough loss for the Tigers moving to nine and nine on the season. 76 – 69 was your final here in Edmond. Thanks for tuning in. I’m Tyler Parks, my producer Ken Moreno, we are the Tiger Media Network.

Tyler Parks:
This is Tiger Media Network here with head men’s basketball coach Mark Johnson. Tough loss tonight, coach. What’d you see?

Coach Johnson:
It was tough. I thought that we didn’t necessarily play great today. I thought we only did enough to hang around late in the game and had an opportunity to win and came up a little short. I think going into this game before the start that’s what we were just trying [inaudible 23:12] enough to be there at the end and give yourself a chance. We did that and just couldn’t quite get it all the way over the hump. We just got it tied. It just seemed like we just didn’t have enough gas there in overtime to finish the deal and they kind of got away from us.

Tyler Parks:
Yeah. You jumped out to an early ten point lead. What changed?

Coach Johnson:
I thought they started hitting some shots. They changed their defense and our offense got a little stagnant. I think we only hit three three’s in the first half and I think two of those came in that run to get us the lead. Really the rest of the half we just kind of hung on and allowed ourselves to be right there at half time.

Tyler Parks:
One of the most exciting games of the season this year, just couldn’t pull it out at the end. You have Northeastern State coming up this Saturday. What are you looking to do there?

Coach Johnson:
The main thing is we can’t let what happened tonight carry over into Saturday. We got to go play that game and make sure we’re ready to play and excited to play and compete. If it’s good enough it’s good enough. If it’s not it’s not. But let’s don’t go there and let this be a hangover effect and not be ready to play.

Tyler Parks:
Yeah. Well thank you so much Coach, for taking the time. Good luck on Saturday and good luck the rest of the season.

Coach Johnson:
Thank you.

Tyler Parks:
Tyler Parks, Tiger Media Network. 76 – 69, your final here in Edmond. Tough loss. Overtime loss. My producer Ken Moreno is with me, as always. We’re in Edmond. We’ll see you in Tahlequah on Saturday.

Sound Off!
