April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Awareness was spread in FHSU’s Quad on April 16 with Walk a Mile In Her Shoes hosted by FHSU’s Interfraternity Council, Options Domestic and Sexual Violence Services and Fort Hays University Police booth.
Hot dogs and burgers were served, and Beats headphones and a Galaxy Tablet were awarded to the individuals with the fastest lap and the most laps completed in heels.
Walk A Mile In Her Shoes works to end men’s sexualized violence and give them an opportunity to put themselves in a woman’s shoes, literally and metaphorically, gaining education on sexual violence and a direction to put an end to it.
