On Friday, the Fort Hays State University softball team split a doubleheader with Newman.
The Tigers lost the first game 7-6 in extra innings before securing a 10-8 victory in the late game.
On Saturday, No. 20-ranked Central Oklahoma swept FHSU in a doubleheader, winning the opener 4-2 before a 21-9 run-rule win in the late game.
FHSU is 19-28 overall and 5-17 in MIAA play entering a doubleheader Saturday at Nebraska-Kearney. The Tigers are 11th in the conference standings entering the final games of the regular season.
