At last Thursday night’s Student Government Association meeting, Dana Cunningham discussed the day-to-day operations of facilities at Fort Hays State University.
The facilities have $2.3 million for educational growth and renovations.
The university works two to three years ahead. FHSU currently has 21 projects and three capital projects in the works. Facilities is working on Stroup Hall renovations, Tomanek Hall renovations and the upcoming Malloy Hall renovations.
“Many think we are part of the physical plant and construction; we are a separate entity,” Cunningham said.
Facilities focuses on classroom and space utilization. That is why they renovate buildings rather than create new ones.
