The Washburn University baseball team broke open a 1-1 game with 12 runs in the final five innings Tuesday at Larks Park to win an MIAA battle, 13-5.
With the score tied 1-1 entering the fifth, the Ichabods tacked on three runs to lead 4-1. Fort Hays State University was outscored 9-4 in the final three innings.
The loss dropped FHSU to 12-27 overall and 9-20 in MIAA play.
The Tigers are 11th in the MIAA standings.
