Concordia University Bulldog Invitational
The Fort Hays State University Shotgun Team competed at the Concordia University Bulldog Invitational on February 27 and 28 at Oak Creek Sporting Club in Brainard, Nebraska. The team shot their first round of sporting clays in the early afternoon, in perfect shooting weather — sunny and 70 degrees.
The team shot super sporting at 9 a.m. the next day, where the weather was the complete opposite of the day before—windy and 30 degrees. Despite the tough conditions, the Tigers wrapped up the competition with their final round of sporting clays at 2 p.m.
It was a challenging weekend, but the Tigers finished strong with a team score of 1368/1500, earning 3rd place overall.
Iowa Western Community College Doubles
This past weekend, FHSU departed Hays for Lincoln, Nebraska for the Iowa Western Community College Doubles Competition.
Saturday morning started with 100 doubles skeet in cold and windy conditions. After a lunch break, the team got right back into it with another 100 doubles skeet to finish the day. The Tigers secured 1st place in Doubles Skeet with a team score of 957/1,000.
Sunday morning the Tigers shot 200 doubles trap back-to-back, wrapping up the competition before heading home.
