The Moss-Thorns Gallery is currently exhibiting art created by FHSU Art and Design faculty and staff. A reception took place on October 17 to launch the exhibit, offering visitors the chance to enjoy snacks and drinks while engaging with the artists themselves about their work. Many new and exciting pieces are on display from the Fort Hays faculty this year, in all shapes, sizes, and mediums that everyone should get a chance to see.
This exhibition provides FHSU faculty and staff the opportunity to showcase their work from this year.
“While we all educate our students in the classroom, it is important to understand and see the results of what we continue to do in our fields,” said Gallery Director and Interior Design Professor Colin Schmidtberger said. “It allows students who take our courses to see firsthand how we use the skills we teach, as well as experiment with new tools, media, etc., to learn and possibly incorporate into future classes.”
The art and design faculty hopes that everyone checks out the exhibit, which is open until Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.
“It can be a catalyst for creative conversation or a unique place to think, reflect, and participate in creativity,” said FHSU Ceramics Professor Linda Ganstrom.
