Fort Hays State University Vice President of Student Affairs Joey Linn spoke to the Student Government Association about updates within Student Affairs at Thursday’s meeting.
“I represent the student body to the administration the best I can,” he said.
Linn spoke about enrollment. While the 20-day numbers are not official yet, a number cannot be said at this time. However, Linn did express that this freshman class is one of the biggest FHSU has seen in a while.
Linn also addressed parking on campus. In January 2026, the library will be open, and the campus will regain the parking that comes with it. The campus should also regain full use of the Stroup Hall parking lot in January 2027.
In New Business, Bill 25-F-102 was read, in which FHSU Public Relations Student Society of America has requested to move funds from multiple lines items to another. Senator Daniel Bechle motioned to move this bill into emergency business. This motion was seconded and passed unanimously. After moving to a direct vote, the bill passed unanimously.
In Old Business, one bill was voted on. Bill 25S-101 reassigned Senator Alyssa Rucker to represent the College of Science, Technology, and Mathematics after a change in academic major. It passed unanimously.
