Good news for those waiting to pull out their summer clothes—warmer averages are right around the corner, indicated by this week’s steady climb in temperatures. Wind speeds also remain average, though this time, they won’t be pulling any storm fronts through Kansas as they have for the last month. Instead, Kansans can finally take in some sun.
Jeff Johnson, a meteorologist with the Dodge City National Weather Service, explains the clear skies ahead as an effect of a notable lack of meteorological fronts or patterns.
“[Minimal meteorological movement] pans out to a calmer weather pattern with some increases in temperature,” Johnson said. “This is our transitional weather pattern, so hopefully things will start to warm up now that we’re in the latter half.”
Though there isn’t anything to keep an eye out for, that translates to the perfect weather to walk outside, picnic, and look ahead to the latter half of spring and the start of summer.
