Citizens of Hays will want to bundle up for this week, where sunshine shouldn’t be mistaken for warm weather. The most notable weather pattern to expect this week is the winter storm expected to hit the area Tuesday afternoon into the night.
Robert Bennett, a meteorologist with the Dodge City National Weather Service, explained the upcoming hazardous conditions.
“The storm front incoming towards the Southwest of Kansas has two components,” he said. “There’s going to be a Tuesday to Wednesday storm, and then another round from Wednesday into Thursday.”
Bennett warned of hazardous conditions, particularly for drivers.
“Anytime there’s snow, drivers need to be especially cautious,” he said.
