During Thursday’s Student Government Association meeting, FHSU Online Interim Director Kelsi Broadway provided an overview of the resources available to online students during the enrollment process. She highlighted exclusive scholarships specifically tailored for those pursuing their degrees online, emphasizing the unique opportunities that exist for this community.
In her presentation, Broadway explained the online department’s continuous initiatives designed to enhance student support, particularly through the introduction of success coaching. This innovative program is tailored to promote academic achievement by providing personalized guidance and resources that address individual student needs. Broadway emphasized the significance of increasing student engagement, highlighting the department’s commitment to fostering a more connected and interactive online learning environment where students feel supported and empowered.
“When COVID happened, everything went online and the full online students loved the student engagement,” Broadway said. “However; when people came back, student engagement decreased, the goal is to improve student engagement.”
Broadway provided a comprehensive overview of the recent updates to the online orientation format. These improvements aim to create a more user-friendly experience, ensuring that new students can easily navigate the online platform while gaining crucial information about academic resources, support services, and community-building opportunities. Her insights underscored the department’s dedication to enhancing academic success and building a vibrant online community that encourages collaboration and interaction among students.
