KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State Women’s Soccer had six players named to the All-MIAA Team for the 2024 season on Friday (Nov. 8). Sydney Cotter, Mackenzie Caldwell, Allison Worley, Taylor Hill, Emily Hutchings, and Sullivan Kelly comprised the group of Tigers to receive honors. Cotter was a second-team selection, Caldwell and Worley were third-team selections, and Hill, Hutchings, and Kelly received honorable mention picks.
Hutchings closed her decorated career as a four-time all-conference selection. Hutchings had her year and career cut short due to an injury suffered midway through the season, but she will go down as one of the all-time bests to put on the black and gold. She has earned every type of all-conference selection a player can have, with a second-team pick in 2021 and third-team pick in 2022 as a midfielder. She converted to defender in 2023 and earned first-team honors, then received a nod from the conference coaches this year for an honorable mention selection with her year cut short. The Tiger captain played and started all 70 matches in her career at FHSU, accumulating 18 points on three goals and 12 assists. She played over 6,000 minutes for her career and only rested for seven minutes out of a possible 1,890 during her junior campaign when she earned all-conference first team honors.
Kelly nabbed an all-conference selection for the third time in her career, receiving an honorable mention pick this year. She has received all-conference honors at all three positions on the pitch other than goalkeeper with a third-team pick in 2022 at forward, a second-team pick in 2023 at midfielder, and an honorable mention pick this year at defender. She is tied for the team lead in assists this year with three heading into the MIAA Tournament. She has 27 points in her career at FHSU with six goals and 15 assists.
Worley is a repeat selection on the team this year, this time with a third-team pick at forward after a second-team nod last year. She currently ranks second on the team in points with 10, notching four goals and two assists so far this season. She has two-game winning goals this season.
Cotter received a second-time selection in the midfield in her first season at FHSU. She has four goals so far this season and leads the team in shots (42) and shots on goal (19) heading into the MIAA Tournament. She has eight points for the season.
Hill has made a big impact in her first year out of high school, receiving an honorable mention pick at forward. The true freshman leads FHSU in goals (5) and points (11) entering the MIAA Tournament. Two of her five goals have been game winners.
Caldwell has been critical in keeping the Tigers in a lot of matches this year. The graduate transfer received a third-team pick at goalkeeper, producing six wins with 79 saves, an .823 save percentage, and a 1.04 goals against average for the season. She started all but one match in the regular season for the Tigers.
