EMPORIA, Kan. – Two more student-athletes from the Fort Hays State men’s and women’s track and field teams lifted All-American trophies Saturday (May 25) on the final day of the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships. For the week, the Tigers earned three All-America trophies in addition to one second-team All-America honor.

Jacob Clark secured his fourth-career All-America trophy via an eighth-place finish in the pole vault. The junior surpassed the bar at 16-8.75 on his first attempt after clearing the bar at 16-2.75 on his second trip down the runway. This is the Nottingham, England native’s first podium appearance at the outdoor national meet to go along with his three indoor trophies.

Taylor Savolt earned All-America honors in the 400m hurdles for a second year in a row, again placing eighth with a time of 1:04.36. The senior finishes her career with three All-America honors, including two first-team trophies and one second-team recognition. Her time of 59.15 in the prelims goes down as second-best at FHSU during the DII era.

Competing at the national meet for the fourth time in their career, Addie Berens and Rhyann Brown finished 20th and 21st in the javelin throw, respectively. Berens opened the day with a top toss of 130-1 on her first attempt, while Brown recorded a top mark of 119-7 on her second attempt. Berens finishes her career as a three-time All-American, while Brown wraps up her time as a Tiger ranked fifth at FHSU during the DII era with a career-best heave of 159-10.
