MakerSpace on campus has moved locations and is ready to bring more creative fun in the new location. MakerSpace will now be located inside Picken Hall 102.

To show its new home and celebrate this important occasion with campus, MakerSpace is holding an opening event “Celebrating a new location!” tomorrow from 3:00-6:00 pm.

At this event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of creative experiences and utilize a variety of exciting creative tools and equipment. There is no need to register in advance. MakerSpace offers users a wide range of projects: 3D Printers and scanners, a Laser Cutter, a Desktop Mill, Origami, a Vinyl Cutter, Stomp Rockets, Stickers, Thermal Camera, Robots and Ozobots.

“We are hosting this event to let people know that MakerSpace’s new home is at Picken Hall 102. Any creative ideas or handmade creations can be made at MakerSpace, “MakerSpace and MakerVan Coordinator GG Launchbaugh said.

They went on to explain that no matter what age you are, whether you are a novice with a passion for creation or a veteran with extensive experience, this activity will meet your interests and needs.

MakerSpace will host additional events this semester in their new space.

“Later this spring, we’ll also have five hands-on events giving people the opportunity to get their hands on something and use the technology,” Launchbaugh said.

MakerSpace is available outside of its special events as well.

“It doesn’t matter if the event time is missed; you can also enjoy creating during open hours at MakerSpace, and if you have any questions or need help, you can reach out to me or our staff at MakerSpace. They are very helpful, so don’t be afraid to ask them questions.” Launchbaugh said.
