KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Fort Hays State baseball team will open the 2024 season ranked 11th in the MIAA Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll, announced Friday (Jan. 19) by the conference office.
The Tigers finished in a tie for 11th in the league last season, just four games back of qualifying for the MIAA Championship Tournament. Fort Hays State won 20 games in its first season under head coach Justin Wichert, the most wins for the team in seven years.
Fort Hays State’s 37-man roster is comprised of 11 returners and 26 newcomers, including 20 transfers and six freshmen.
The Tigers’ 2024 schedule is slated to begin at home with a four-game series against Adams State February 2-4 at Larks Park. The conference season will begin February 23-25 when Fort Hays State hosts Missouri Southern.
